1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of RubbishBids.co.uk and any related services (collectively, the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

2. What RubbishBids does

RubbishBids is a marketplace platform that connects customers who need waste collected ("Customers") with independent, Environment Agency-licensed waste carriers ("Carriers"). We facilitate the introduction between Customers and Carriers but are not a party to any contract formed between them. We do not collect waste ourselves and are not responsible for the actions of Carriers.

3. Customer terms

As a Customer, you agree to:

• Provide accurate information about your waste, including type, quantity, and access.
• Only submit jobs for waste types that are legal to dispose of via a licensed carrier.
• Not submit hazardous waste (asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste) through the Platform without prior agreement with a specialist carrier.
• Deal directly and honestly with Carriers who submit bids.
• Not use the Platform for any unlawful purpose.

4. Carrier terms

As a Carrier, you agree to:

• Hold and maintain a valid Environment Agency waste carrier licence at all times.
• Only bid on jobs you are genuinely able to fulfil.
• Dispose of all collected waste legally and in accordance with applicable environmental regulations.
• Provide customers with a waste transfer note (duty of care documentation) for all collections.
• Upload proof of disposal (e.g. a photograph or scan of the waste transfer note) to the Platform within 48 hours of collection. Failure to do so will result in the job being flagged on your account; repeated failures may result in suspension.
• Maintain adequate public liability insurance.
• Not misrepresent your credentials, pricing, or availability to Customers.
• Maintain a sufficient credit balance to bid on and accept jobs. Access to jobs will be suspended for accounts with an exhausted credit balance.

5. Payments and credits

Carrier access to the Platform is provided on a prepaid credit basis: Carriers purchase credits via Stripe, which are consumed as they bid on and accept jobs. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law. If your account is suspended or terminated for a breach of Section 4 (Carrier terms), any unused credits are forfeited and will not be refunded or restored. Otherwise, unused credits remain valid on your account and are not subject to expiry unless your account has been inactive for more than 12 months. We reserve the right to change credit pricing with 30 days' notice. Customers use the Platform free of charge — there is no platform fee on jobs.

6. Limitation of liability

RubbishBids acts solely as an introduction platform. We are not liable for: the quality or timeliness of waste collection services provided by Carriers; any damage caused by Carriers during collection; disputes between Customers and Carriers; or any indirect, consequential, or special losses arising from use of the Platform. Our total liability to you shall not exceed the greater of (a) £100, or (b) the value of credits purchased by you in the 3 months preceding the claim.

7. Intellectual property

All content on the Platform, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is owned by or licensed to RubbishBids. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without our prior written consent.

8. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the Platform at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have breached these Terms or if your continued use poses a risk to other users or to the Platform. Where termination or suspension results from a breach of Section 4 (Carrier terms), any unused credits on your account are forfeited without refund or compensation. Carriers may otherwise close their account at any time; any remaining credit balance is dealt with in accordance with Section 5.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify registered Carriers of material changes by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Cooperation with authorities

Where we reasonably suspect that a Carrier has engaged in illegal waste disposal (including fly-tipping) or other breach of environmental law, we may share that Carrier's identity, licence details, and related job data with the Environment Agency, local councils, or other relevant authorities, without further notice to the Carrier. We do this on the basis of our legitimate interests in preventing and detecting crime under UK data protection law. Further detail is set out in our Privacy Policy.
